Horse in Window

I can never decide if I enjoy naming photos or not!
I think I enjoy it when I come up with a good name, and I don’t like when I come up with a boring name. Let’s take this one for example: "Horse in Window." I mean, how uncreative can I be? What’s wrong with me?
When I am editing photos, and the muse visits, I am like a man possessed. I can rip through a bunch of photos and make some nice little creations. But then I click "Save As…", and I just blank out on a name. I think the creative part of my brain for making photos is different than the part for naming things.
I do enjoy writing, and I often find that the words flow easily. This bit of me seems disconnected from the photo-editing bit, though.
There is a small slice of solace, I think, in considering the names of some of the great paintings from my impressionist heroes. They have names like "Girl in Field" and "Sun on Water". Not too exciting, but they do stand the test of time. But "Horse in Window"? I think not!

I can relate to your discourse, which makes the prose itself creative, since I cannot recall ever seeing anyone else raising this idea common to us all.
I agree. Seems like other people always come up with better names for my photos than I do.
Glad to hear I’m not alone!
The matching leopard appys are too cute
Horse is outside, you are in the window
And since the horse can see sideways, may be he is saying the same thing – man in the window…
Superb work .. perfect composition!
Congratulations!
I second abhishekit’s point
As to your point, when coming to naming images my mind goes flat dead, so I kinda simpathize with you.
That’s why most of my shots are "unnamed".
On the contrary, at times i stumble into little-more-than-ordinary pics that are given a shine because of a very nice fitting name.
Should we imply that the "perfect" image is the one in which we can spot a consistent "marriage" of name+image?
That would roughly be Cartier-Bresson point of view, but would also mean being overly simplistic, to say the least, because there are so many other things to be taken into account while attempting to "read" an image: the place of "fruition" of the image, whether the image is a single one or is part of a series, the size/quality of print, the "internal" context (what do we know about the artist? where was the shot taken? what drove the artist to take that shot? was it candid or staged? and so on…).
uhm, maybe I went a bit off-track…
love it, congrats
I know exactly what you mean about naming shots. I have some really lame ones – but don’t want to go with the generic "untitled" cop-out. I named my shot of my daughter last night "Girl" because I couldn’t think of something creative. At least your "Horse in Window" is describing the scene a little more. I like Abhishekit’s idea of "Man in WIndow" too!
Anyhow, onto your picture – which is the real subject here. It’s really a great natural scene made artistic through the literal framing of the shot with the window frame. A nice amount of light is falling on that frame giving some great definition. I like that so much more than the frame being a silhouette. The clarity of all the horses in the yard is gorgeous as well. Very nice!
Our dog is mostly called "dog".
Nice framing- and title

Very cool shot. I do like the framing.
